Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' debut female singer on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Dreamville Records released her debut EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began to gain recognition. Her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded music online in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 the mixtape Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw her continue to release her music on the internet, including her self released single Bound. Sweat It is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to collaborate with Rihanna. The announcement that she would be signed by Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. In October 21, 2016, the artist released her debut album titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. Also, she was featured in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas, her labelmates. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on September 5. On November 9 the singer released two new singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 she then released two more singles called The No One or Pedigree. She appeared with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16th, and made the track available as a single by herself for her first album. The track was accompanied by the music video which debuted on February 20 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views via YouTube within one week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
